To mark #WorldEnvironmentDay, The Manama Hub launched the 2018 edition of the ‘Bahrain Green Muslim Guide’, which acts as a resource to enable Bahraini residents to live in a sustainable and eco-friendly way. The guide covers areas’s such as Green Iftar’s, water conservation in Wudu, performing Hajj & Umrah in a sustainable way, and climate change from an Islamic perspective. The guide also contains a directory of organizations related to food donations and recycling in Bahrain.
This year’s #WorldEnvironmentDay Theme is #BeatPlasticPollution. Plastic pollution has become an epidemic. Every year, we throw away enough plastic to circle the Earth four times, and annually pilgrims performing Hajj leave over 100 million plastic bottles behind.
It’s time to rethink how we use plastic, and live our Deen in a way that’s Green.
Developed in collaboration with the Bahrain Climate & Faith Movement, Bnature, the Arab Youth Climate Movement Bahrain, the Green Muslim Climate Network, and the Manama Hub of the Global Shapers Community.
