Hashem is a turnkey tendering manager at General Electric – Power Business where he is responsible for all aspects of Power Plants turnkey proposals including its scope development, improvement of value for customer, technical risk management and mitigations, specification compliance, customer communication and issue resolution. Prior to this role, Hashem worked as Regional Application Engineer at GE where he worked on providing upgrades and modifications to power plants to enhance their reliability and availability, increase their output, save fuels or reduce emissions. Hashem hold Masters in Mechanical Engineering from North Carolina State University, USA and Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from Newcastle University, UK. Hashem is interested in providing affordable and clean energy to citizens of the world, reduce climate change impact, waste management and readiness for jobs of the future.

Mohammed AlKhalifa is an Urban and Transportation Planner by training. After completing his bachelors and masters degrees in New York City, Mohammed currently works for Bahrain Urban Planning and Development Authority, and works towards implementing sustainable development in the Kingdom.

Esraa graduated from Northeastern University with a bachelor’s in international Affairs and Economics and a minor in Social Entrepreneurship. Her education and early work experience at Massachusetts Clean Energy Center developed her passion and interest in building sustainable solutions at the intersection of economics and environment. Some of the social initiatives she has been involved with include the social cohesion of refugees in new countries, recycling and divesting from fossil fuels on campus and helping entrepreneurs shift their businesses to create social impact. Esraa currently works at Bahrain Economic Development Board, with the Business Development team in areas of manufacturing and industrial services focusing on consumer goods manufacturing, renewable energy and waste management. Outside of work, Esraa loves meeting new people, traveling and exploring new flavors of tea.

Ali Adnan Ibrahim is a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader and First Vice President of the Al Baraka Banking Group in Bahrain, the world’s largest Islamic banking network, where he specializes in market-based strategies for economic development, Islamic micro-and-SME finance, corporate sustainability, M & A and Shari’ah structuring. He is Adjunct Professor of Law at Georgetown University. Previously, he was a Counsel at Baker & McKenzie. Ibrahim has extensive experience in structuring large Islamic finance transactions and has worked on multi-billion dollar transactions involving international project development and finance, M & A, FDI, capital markets, etc. A Fulbright Scholar, he received his Doctorate in Juridical Sciences with distinction in international financial regulation from the Georgetown University Law Center, an LLM from the Washington University School of Law and an LLB (Honours) from the International Islamic University, Islamabad. He has twice served as Co-Chair of the Islamic Finance Committee of the American Bar Association and serves as its Senior Adviser. A member of the Bar in Pakistan and Advocate of the Supreme Court of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Ibrahim has published internationally on Islamic microfinance, Islamic finance and its regulation, comparative corporate governance and capital markets in the developing countries.

Shaheen works at Osool Asset Management as an Investment Manager in the Public Investments team, covering multi-asset classes, such as global equities, fixed income, money markets, and hedge funds. Prior to his current role, he was at Central Bank of Bahrain’s (CBB) Reserve Management Directorate, where he was responsible in developing and implementing the CBB’s investment guidelines by ensuring liquidity, preserving capital, and maximizing returns relative to risk. He also worked at Ernst & Young (EY) as an Associate providing financial services to investment banking clients. Shaheen holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance with a focus in Macroeconomics, Global Private Banking, and Investment Management. He has a particular interest in renewable energy, sustainable finance, and financial technology (fintech).

Ali is an Associate Director at Middle East Venture Partners (MEVP), a regional VC firm investing in early stage companies. Ali also worked at Bahrain Development Bank (BDB) in the Business Development Unit and the Development Services Division. Prior to that, Ali was an Analyst for Dun & Bradstreet, Bahrain Office. Ali has bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Entrepreneurship from Ryerson University, Toronto, Canada. During his time at university, Ali worked for 2 startups in addition to working for the university’s own business incubator, the Ryerson Digital Media Zone (DMZ).

Passionate about youth development and education. Husain explores beyond the standard methods of teaching and learning. Having worked with several nonprofit organizations in New York City, Bahrain, and the Middle East, Husain helps organizations build and develop sustainable programs and policies that offer young people the fundamental skills and experience to face an increasingly complex and competitive world. Husain is a Marxe International Scholar, studying MSEd in Higher Education Administration at Baruch College – The City University of New York (CUNY). Previously, Husain was the Students Coordinator for the British Schools in the Middle East (BSME), where he oversees all student activities: program and events with 130+ member schools (100,000+ students) across the Middle East.

Huda is currently leading the talent management and recruitment activities of Manama Hub. Professionally, she works for Tamkeen (Labour Fund) at the Monitoring and Impact Unit. Huda has a passion for human development, training, education, and humanitarian causes.

Ayesha is an experienced Interaction Designer, having worked as a Frontend Developer and as an Instructional Designer. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Bahrain and is currently enrolled with the University of London, working on a postgraduate degree in Data Science. She is a Climate Reality leader, trained with the former US Vice President, Al Gore, in 2020. She is always on the lookout for projects at the sweet spot of her passions for the environment, data and social good.

Masooma Kadhem is currently serving as an Associate Account Manager in Asda’a BCW, a global PR agency. She is seconded at Dussur, or the Saudi Arabian Industrial Investments Company, as their in-house communications consultant, tasked with content creation, media relations, and brand management. Passionate about community engagement and outreach, Masooma is also a board member in Rotaract Bahrain and community relations coordinator in Omneyat Foundation.

Mahmood is the co-founder and CEO of Majra, he started working on Majra after several years of working on youth development and entrepreneurial projects in Bahrain and Oman, from positions like the Country Manager of AIESEC in Oman and the Managing Director of Startup Oman. Currently, Mahmood is actively working on expanding Majra and its impact across the Middle East to reach more young people.

Haya is a fashion designer and entrepreneur. She studied fashion design in Royal University for Women while working on her brand Naseem AlAndalos where she gained recognition and achievements including fashion shows in Dubai, London, Paris and Marrakech. She recently received the award for best Arab fashion designer in Arab Sat Festival in Egypt. Haya is interested in environmentalism and sustainability, she launched a sustainable fashion brand, Nesma Studio and uses her platform to raise awareness about climate and social issues. She also conducts educational workshops related to fashion and sustainability.

Shivani got her Bachelor’s in Economics and Management from the London School of Economics and has since worked in advertising and marketing. She created a social awareness campaign to educate the local community about health and climate change, and founded New Normal consultancy to enable local businesses to adopt more sustainable products, services and practices, with research driven models.

Ghufran is a degree holder in Politics and International Relations from the University of Bristol. She is passionate about the creation and implementation of sustainable practices that have the joint effect of mitigating environmental damage, alongside boosting quality of life through economic and environmental justice. Her experience as a Youth Programme Coordinator has allowed her the opportunity to develop and deliver interactive programmes for students of various age groups, inspiring them to continue responsible societal practices. She seeks to apply her skills and drive toward advancing progressive goals such as, social and environmental justice and halting the climate crisis.

With an educational background in German and English for Business and Communication, Reem has participated in different youth international programs like the Kennedy Lugar Youth Exchange and Study program, Ship for World Youth and the United Nations Development Youth Leadership Program, she has recently completed her Climate Reality Training and is now one of the few Bahraini Climate Reality Leaders. Reem is currently working as a Youth Activities Specialist in the Bahrain Science Center for the SDGs, where she is hoping to educate youth on different social, economic and environmental issues as well as empower them to be positive change agents.

Hejer is a Customer Success Manager at Insomea Computer Solutions focusing on Cloud Computing, Office 365 and Azure DevOps. She helps companies and startups get the best experience possible when building their apps and moving them to the cloud. Other than consulting and writing code for a living, Hejer advocates for bringing more women and minorities into tech, thus her involvement with Women Who Code and different tech communities. Hejer participated in serval international competitions and programs where she had the chance to mentor people on how they can transform their ideas to real solutions and how they can start an IT Project. Hejer trained diverse communities from different age groups and using different languages in IT and Soft Skills.
